WHO BECOMES THE NEXT NIGERIAN IDOL

Since reality show competitions became an item in Africa and Nigeria, one can only count but 3 personalities that has risen to real stardom from being the winner. The 3 I can remember are the defunct KC-Presh, who won the 1st star quest, Iyanya, the winner of the 1st edition of MTN project fame, and Chidinma who is the 1st female to win the MTN project fame as well. Does it have any thing to do with being the 1st in a way? If so why is Yeka Onka, the 1st winner of Nigerian idol so unknown even as the competition goes to season 3?  Yeka dropped a single last year, titled, “follow you”. This song is yet to be heard by many. Hoping luck finally shine on her way as she works towards releasing her debut album.
Talking about how the winners of these competitions disappears into tin air before you  know it, you may wonder if the fact that they became the over-all winner is not enough as what it takes to be transported to immediate stardom. Apart from Timi Dakolo who is still on the struggle of keeping his head above waters in the music industry, where is Mike, where are other star quest winners after KC-Presh, where is Monica Ogah, where are the winners of Naija sing, where are the winners of the dancing competitions, where is the good life and contracts promised?

Has it really been a thing of talent, financing, or luck? I guess its getting complicated. Again, where is Yeka Onka, the 1st winner of Nigerian idol? These questions become imperative with how promising the jingle of these competition sounds, including the on-going Nigerian idol. Well, we are watching! It is obvious that the above mentioned successful winners seem to have done much struggle on their own despite the promises of record contract. Of-course, luck is on their side you may conclude. From me, I will say, God bless their hustle, the only sure way to greatness, wishing the current Nigerian idol competitors the best of luck.
